Under The Whale with The Lost Quays - Again!!
SHANTIES AND SEA SONGS FROM THE TIME OF THE TALL SHIPS
In 1897 a blue whale was found beached in the southwest of WA, now dramatically displayed in the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Easy to forget, but back in the 19th Century, whale products provided essentials for day-to-day living: heating, lighting, cooking and lubricants. With Otto, the mighty whale skeleton suspended above, WA's premier sea shanty band, The Lost Quays, will again take you on a musical voyage. You'll hear songs of life and work, and gain insights into whaling history. These shows sold out in FRINGE WORLD 2025, so don't miss the boat! "A night of maritime tunes, a bit of history, and a seriously cool venue...definitely worth checking out" Fringefeed, 2025. "Otto would have been impressed" Ian Lilburne, X-Press Magazine.
